There is a tiny magical island located in the middle of an emerald lake in the heart of Julian Alps that has become one of the top European tourist destinations – Lake Bled. As a Slovenian I have to say, this is by far my favorite place back home.
As the trail around the lake is 6 km long, there are many spots where you can just relax and enjoy the view, but there are 3 of my favorite Winter spots that would interest every person who wants to create picture perfect moments. If you are my kind of person, than this article is the right one for you as I will let you know all the locations and how to get there.
There are 3 picture perfect spots in Winter that will leave you speechless!
1. OJSTRICA HILL
By far one of my favorite spots and the most iconic place at Bled. Ojstrica is a sharp-peaked hill rising 611 m above Lake Bled that offers the most breathtaking panoramic view over the island and surroundings.
How to get there: Park your car at car parking near camp called Zaka and continue your hike towards the hill nearby, you will see the sign Ojstrica. It is not marked well, so make sure to check for directions before your hike or use navigation on your phone. Right before finish line, the path becomes rocky and a bit slippery, but once you get to the view-point with a charming bench overlooking Lake Bled and the mountains, you will immediately forget about all the troubles.
How long does it takes to get to the view-point: 25-30 minutes.
2. HEART STATUE WITH A CASTLE VIEW
Second most popular picture perfect point is located at the pier next to the Park Hotel.
How to get there: Find a parking around Lake Bled ( I would advise you to park next to the Ice Hockey Arena) and then walk to the pier.
3. LAGOON ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE LAKE WITH PLETNAS
Take a trip to the magical island of Bled with a traditional boat called Pletna.
Hot to get there: Park in front of restaurant Mlino (when is off-season parking lot is not crowded) and you will see colorful pletnas across the street.
