Sarasota is the perfect holiday spot in USA, but many of you as much as I did, probably think that there is nothing else to do than enjoy white sandy beaches with turquoise water. Well I though that for 4 years and how was I wrong! There is so much to do in Southwest Florida!
As Blaz mostly prepare for tennis season in Florida, we have been coming here for years but I have to admit, I never really explore this place. So when I met one really cute local women, who told me that Sarasota has number one beach in USA I was shocked.
All those years, we always went to Ana Maria Island, not knowing that few miles South there is one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever seen and we didn’t even have to leave the country. Then I started digging even dipper, and my dear Google showed me places that sounded very interesting to visit, and so we did!
I came up with the perfect Sarasota Holiday Guide, that will take you to dreamy beaches (Siesta Key Beach), most romantic places (The Ringling Museum), plus I found something fun and perfect for the whole family (Sarasota Jungle Gardens). So let’s start!
- THE RINGLING MUSEUM OF ART
I discovered the Ringling months ago and I’ve been there twice already. Why? It is a waste of time to use words as pictures will make you fall in love with this place in a second. And pssst… I have a secret… Every Monday the Museum of Art, including special exhibition galleries are free to the public.

There are several buildings in the Ringling grounds and all are accessible by walking paths. The circus museum is fascinating to see up close, but wait untill you see the mansion right next to the ocean! It’s all marble, art and fantastic coffered gilded and painted ceilings, quite spectacular. And then there is a fairy tale rose garden that makes this place even more unrealistic.
- JUNGLE GARDENS
Wake up a child in you and go do something fun! If you are down for this then Sarasota Jungle Gardens is perfect for you. It is quite a small ZOO but has everything you need for a relaxing fun family day. You can train a crocodile, take a picture with your favorite parrot or do my favorite thing, feeding beautiful pink flamingos. Did you know that flamingos derive their pink color from their diet of shrimp and other crustaceans? Interesting, right?! Well, you will learn everything about animals here, since the staff is so lovely and always prepared to share interesting facts about Sarasota Jungle Gardens and it’s residents. I absolutely loved this place and I will always stay in my memory since it was the first time I fed the flamingos, and what an experience!

3. SIESTA KEY BEACH
If you are spending Holidays in Sarasota it would be a mistake if you wouldn’t visit number one beach in USA. Yes, you heard it right! Siesta Key Beach is number one beach in USA and it fully deserves this title. Siesta Key has three wonderful beaches with “the world’s finest, whitest sand” along the Gulf of Mexico but no matter which one you pick, each one offers the same azure gulf waters, picture-perfect sunsets, and that perfect all year-long Summer breeze that make all the troubles go away.

This are 3 spots that you must visit while being in Sarasota. Hope my tips will help you plan your perfect holidays!
