To book a flight can be for many difficult and stressful. Believe me, before I began to travel frequently, I caught myself couple of times losing my temper, when I found myself at the airport and I had no ticket even though I booked one. So this article is for those who want to avoid travel agencies and save some money, but you do not exactly know how and what to do when you book a ticket online. I’ll give you some key tips that will save your time, nerves and most importantly money, when booking your next flight.

Spring break is right around the corner, so this is the best time to use my tips. Let’s begin!

1. ALWAYS USE A TRUSTED AND VERIFIED BROWSER

Before I booked my first online ticket, I read a lot of reviews and found out, that you should only book with well-known, verified travel browsers, if you don’t to want to be a victim of fraud and lose all of your money. So years ago my friend told me about SKYSCANNER and because she already used it, and everything was fine, I decided to trust it and go give it a try. Honestly since then, I always book my flights trough this browser and I’ve never had any complications.

To get started browsing, CLICK THIS LINK below to get you closer to your spring break vacations. I’ll walk you through the steps how to find a perfect flight for you for under or around 300$.

 2. CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS

The most important thing to do is, to change settings. If your browser automatically is set to United States or any other country then United Kingdom, make a change in accordance with the picture below.

Country: United Kingdom

Language: English

Currency: It doesn’t matter. You can set whatever is more convenient for you.

I really don’t know why, but if your settings are set to United Kingdom,  most of the time (NOT ALWAYS) prices are cheaper than if you browse under United States. I’ve heard it from my travel friends that prices in Europe are different from prices in States and SKYSCANNER is the proof.

3. SET YOUR SEARCH TERMS

Set your departure airport (if you have an option of different airports, try all of them, because sometimes the price is way cheaper if you travel nearby airport), the field “TO” to Flexible or Everywhere, put in your travel dates and click to Search to see your options.

4. CHOOSE YOUR BEST OPTION

So here is a proof that prices are different. In this case United States Settings are cheaper so I’ll continue with that. It is worth a try, isn’t it?

Here is a list of options under 300$! Quite a lot of options and for my taste, really attractive destinations. That is why I love FLEXIBLE option because it shows destinations that you wouldn’t even consider. I would bet that Bermuda is to expensive for me, but look at that, now you can get there under 300$.

6. CHECK YOUR ITINERARY

Check your itinerary and choose the best or the lowest provider. This is a list of different partner travel agencies which have plane tickets for the price that was shown before.

In my case this is JustFly so I will click “SELECT”.

7. ALMOST THERE – CLICK THROUGH AND BOOK YOUR CHEAP FLIGHT

Skyscanner will redirect you to book through their partner website, and your price should stay stable. If it’s a partner agency that you are not familiar with, you may want to do a bit of research on them first. But like I told you, I’m a frequent flyer and I’ve never experienced and troubles.
