Hidden in an idyllic forest south of the Triglav National Park, this charming vila is a real pearl for anyone who loves nature and peace. And it is perfect for those who love outdoor activities, as mountains and lakes are nearby, offering many options for sport activities. And not to mention hospitality of the owner, that is in fact one of the best I’ve ever experienced! This is certainly the place for those who are looking for a location that offers tons of charm and personal service.

Before I embarked on road, I read a lot of reviews of this adorable vila and all visitors had described it with great deal of gratification and enthusiasm. Therefore, when Vila Triglav offered cooperation, I could not wait to take my friend for a girls weekend and discover this endearing vila in the middle of a winter fairy tale.

When we arrived at Goreljek, we were greeted by exactly what we expected. Idyllic villa hidden in the woods, intended primarily for those who prefer nature and privacy. Check-in was quick and the owner offered to carry our luggage to the room. However, I must say that at first I was most impressed by the attentiveness and kindness of the owner.

LOCATION

Vila Triglav is located in the middle of forest close to the Pokljuka and less than half an hour away from Bohinj or Bled, yet only 1 hour from the airport in Ljubljana.

ROOM

Rooms are like cabins with a rustic charm. My friend and I were staying in a double room named ERAZEM and we instantly fell in love. Here is how it looks:

It is 25 square meters and decorated in antique style, but includes everything you need for a pleasant stay, from satellite flat-screen TV, a fridge, bathroom with shower and free toiletries.

DINNING AT VILA TRIGLAV

The service is personalized and attentive without being pretentious. The food is homemade and delicious, prepared by the owner.

Every morning you can enjoy a buffet breakfast with homemade Slovenian dishes, prepared in a dining room with a fireplace and a beautiful view of Triglav.

There is also a possibility of dinner, which is prepared by the owner every day. We tried two different dishes and it was delicious and well prepared.

SPA

After a day spent in the peaks, the hot tub was another unique experience and together with the wellness in wooden lodge is perfect for relaxing. The addition of the sauna and outdoor hot tub area has been sympathetically done to fit in with the forest, making it a very unique experience.

ACTIVITIES

If you are a nature lover, you will find something to do no matter what season it is. Winters are perfect for skiing or romantic walks, when summers are ideal for hikes, fishing or to rent a high quality mountain bikes from the owner and enjoy the local hills with feet in the pedals.

I can highly recommend Vila Triglav to any pairs, families or friends. It is a place like any other I have been before. Hopefully I will return to this gem one more time in summer time.
